Join us a for a unique 2-day Prostate Imaging Workshop.
This intensive two‑day prostate cancer imaging course provides a comprehensive, practice‑focused update on the current and emerging role of MRI, PSMA PET, and image‑guided biopsy techniques in prostate cancer diagnosis and management. Designed for radiologists, urologists, radiation oncologists, and clinicians involved in prostate cancer care, the program blends expert lectures with hands‑on case review to strengthen both foundational knowledge and advanced interpretation skills.
Day One builds a strong conceptual and practical framework, beginning with the current standing and future direction of MRI in prostate cancer. Participants will explore multi‑parametric MRI, anatomical considerations, PIRADS 2.0 versus the Likert scale, and the essential information surgeons and radiation oncologists rely on. Sessions also cover histopathology and Gleason scoring, biopsy options including fusion TRUS and TPUS/MRGPB, and the expanding role of PSMA PET. The afternoon focuses on reporting best practice, staging pitfalls, and a dedicated Q&A on bi‑parametric MRI, followed by challenging case‑based learning and workstation‑based unknown case review.
Day Two is fully immersive, offering extended unknown case review sessions that reinforce pattern recognition, structured reporting, and diagnostic confidence. The course concludes with an open Q&A, allowing participants to consolidate learning and clarify complex topics with faculty experts.
Across both days, attendees will gain practical insights, sharpen interpretive accuracy, and leave with a clearer understanding of how to integrate evolving imaging techniques into real‑world prostate cancer management.
Headline Speakers / Faculty
Professior Shonit Punwani and Dr Rajeev Jyoti are internationally recognised leaders in prostate imaging, bringing deep expertise in MRI interpretation, image‑guided diagnostics, and the evolving landscape of prostate cancer imaging. Together, they have contributed extensively to research, guideline development, and the advancement of high‑quality prostate MRI standards adopted in leading centres worldwide.
More about Professor Shonit Punwani
Shonit Punwani is Professor of Magnetic Resonance and Cancer Imaging at University College London, where he serves as director of the UCL Centre for Medical Imaging, and was recently appointed head of the UCL Department of Imaging. Consultant Radiologist at UCLH, Professor Punwani has a specialist clinical and research interest in the application and development quantitative and functional MRI methods for imaging prostate cancer, driving forward novel MRI methods and utilising AI to enable screening prostate cancer, and improving diagnostics and management.
In 2023, he was named one of six researchers nationally to receive a prestigious NIHR Research Professorship, accompanied by £2 million in funding over five years to transform prostate cancer imaging pathways. He is also heavily involved in Prostate Cancer UK's £42m TRANSFORM national screening trial.
