Professor Kate Stevens
Professor Kate Stevens is a globally recognised expert in musculoskeletal radiology, with a distinguished career at Stanford University and a leadership role in multiple international radiology societies.
Professor Kate Stevens serves as a Professor of Radiology (Musculoskeletal Imaging) at Stanford Medicine, where she also directs the Ultrasound program within the MSK Imaging Division. Her clinical focus spans diagnostic radiology and musculoskeletal abnormalities, and she is deeply involved in advancing imaging education and research. As Director of Musculoskeletal Education since 2009, she has shaped training pathways and scholarly initiatives for radiologists at Stanford and beyond.
Her influence extends across numerous professional committees, including the International Skeletal Society, Society of Skeletal Radiology, and Stanford’s own Radiology Wellbeing and Diversity Committees. She has chaired faculty search panels, contributed to white papers on meniscal lesions, and led efforts to expand radiology education in Latin America. Her commitment to academic excellence is reflected in her extensive list of awards, including multiple Certificates of Merit from RSNA and ARRS, Magna and Summa Cum Laude distinctions from ISMRM, and Stanford’s Senior Faculty Teaching Award in 2024.
Dr. Stevens’ educational background is equally impressive, with degrees in Medicine and Biochemistry from London University, and fellowships from the Royal College of Radiologists and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
